The landscape of quartz sandstone in Zhangjiajie UNESCO Global Geopark is unique in the world, featuring with more than 3000 stone peaks with a large relative relief of up to 350m and stone pillars with strange shapes with a very high density, in addition to soft and hard interphase interlayers, a great variety of valuable plants and animals and more. Research has shown that the landforms in Zhangjiajie UNESCO Global Geoaprks are an intact systematic geomorphologic landscape made of terrace, mesa, peak walls, peak cluster, pillars, gorges, streams and waterfalls.
