The landforms in Zhangjiajie UNESCO Global Geoparks have inspired many artists to creat many artistic paintings and Junsheng Art Academy is the most known for its achievements. It is an professional gallery of a new type of paintings (sand & stone painting), and was built by Mr. Li Junsheng in 2001, whom is a famous young artist of Tujia ethnic group, also the founder of sand stone painting. It was awarded as the attraction of AA standard by applying from the National Committee on quality rating assessment of tourist attraction in 2004. It is a personal enterprise with the collection of research, development, producing and sales for sand stone painting and distinctive folk handicrafts. The art academy is located in Zhangjiajie city of Hunan, and it’s generally divided into the cneter of exhibition and sales, also the one of manufacture and development.
There are a number of profersional production research members with high quality, they are mainly in charge of research, development and producing of sand stone painting. Now there are more than one thousand types of sand stone painting in different sizes have been developed, and the annual prodiction quantity will be up to tens of thousands. After more than 10 years’ exploring and innovation, the president LI Junsheng and his wife achived a significant breakthrough in the art circle, and gained the patents and protection for 4 new types of the painting from the national patent office, which promoted to be a higher and updated development stage for art craft series of brand “Jusheng”.
With cultural concept of “simple, nature, and innovation”, JSSPRIC (Jusheng Sand Stone Painting Research Institute Co., Ltd.) implemented the combination of art and market, and it of
culuture and tourism, and opened up a wide Road of Art, which not only offered a certain of contribution for tourism of Zhangjiajie but also gained “good comments” in art field. The company achieved fruitful results depended on its good reputation and quality, and its unique artistic mind and soul. It has been classified as “Designated Producing Site for 57 National Art Crafts of Hunan”， “Top 500 of Private Enterprises in Hunan Province”, “The 1st Model Base of Cultural Industry in Hunan Province”。Junsheng Art Academy is proceeding a close cooperation with Fine Arts Department of Jishou University, and it’s also the practice base of it , Lijusheng, the president of the art academy was appointed as a visiting professor of the university, and several of technicians of sand stone painting were employed as instructors there.
At present, the leaders of Jusheng Art Academy are planning to build another art gallery, which will be not only a platform for sand stone painting exhibition, meanwhile it will combine with the feature of tourism market of Zhangjiajie and make it to be the best platform for the communication and development of art in Hunan and the outside places. |
