On the 22nd of April, the Administrative Office of Zhangjaijie Global Geopark organized an activity themed as ¡°cherishing the resources on the earth and transforming the growth model to improve the resource utilization¡± to celebrate the 46th World Earth Day in Zhangjiajie global geopark.
More than 40 teachers from Guanping primary school, left-behind children in rural areas and young volunteers were invited to visit the zhangjiajie global geopark museum and watch a 5D science fiction movie of ¡°Fantastic Fate in Wulingyuan¡±. Staff members of the geopark also organized a variety of interactive activities and sent popular science readings like Illustration of Zhangjiajie Landforms to students. This activity attracted many tourists from home and abroad by setting up reference service desk, presenting posters and publicity boards on knowledge about geosites of the geopark and distributing free materials for science popularization. Tourists and children all think that the earth is the shared homeland of mankind. And this activity aiming at publicizing the scientific outlook on development that is people-oriented, comprehensive, coordinate and sustainable is of great help for arousing the public¡¯s awareness on environment protection and spurring people to take an active part in geological heritage conservation activities.
